HBO's Emmy-winning series Westworld will return for an undoubtedly perplexing third season on March 15, the network announced recently. 


The dystopian hit's return was announced with a teaser trailer reminiscent of Arrival and filled with a series of ominous moments that seem to be leading to apocalyptic disaster.

The teaser doesn't show any show footage, only a timeline of events which include the recent protests in Hong Kong to ecological disaster.

Season three will see the return of many of the show's stars includes Evan Rachel Wood as Dolores, Thandie Newton as Maeve, Ed Harris as the Man in Black, Jeffery Wright as Bernard, Tessa Thompson as Charlotte, Luke Hemsworth as Stubbs, Simon Quarterman as Lee Sizemore and Rodrigo Santoro as Hector Escaton, according to Deadline.

New actors joining the cast this season include Aaron Paul, Lena Waithe, Vincent Cassel, Scott Mescudi, Marshawn Lynch, John Gallagher Jr., and Michael and Tommy Flanagan.

The theme for the new season is "New World" which show creator Jonathan Nolan said was inspired by Blade Runner but with his own twist.

Created by Johnathan Nolan and Lisa Joy the science fiction western series is al executive produced with J.J. Abrams, Athena Wickham, Richard J. Lewis, Ben Stephenson, and Denise Thé. Produced by Kilter Films and Bad Robot Productions in association with Warner Bros Television.

The eight-episode third season of Westworld will premiere on Sunday, March 15 at 9PM on HBO.
