Frozen sequel Frozen 2 confirmed!

It's official! Disney confirms that Frozen 2, a sequel to the box office megahit and Academy Award winning film Frozen, will happen. The news was announced earlier today at Disney's Annual Shareholders meeting in San Francisco, California. Bob Iger, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of The Walt Disney Company; John Lasseter, Chief Creative Officer of Walt Disney and Pixar Animation Studios, and actor Josh Gad, who provides the voice of Olaf the snowman who loves warm hugs from Frozen, were all on hand to make the announcement.

Members of the oscar-winning filmmaking team of Frozen are on board for Frozen 2. According to a statement from Disney, writer/director Jennifer Lee has come up with a great idea for a sequel, that will take us back to Arendelle. Director, Chris Buck, and producer, Peter Del Vecho, are also back and working on developing the project for Disney Animation Studios.

Actress Kristen Bell shared her excitement on twitter about Frozen 2 and returning to provide the voice of Princess Anna.

There is no denying that Frozen is a big success. It seemed to take over the world from the moment it was released in November 2013. Yes, it has been over a year and the buzz about the Frozen franchise is still going strong. Disney even created an animated short, Frozen Fever, that will show before the live-action Cinderella feature film, which opens in theaters tomorrow.

Will Frozen 2 bring a box office avalanche of earnings or will the icy grip the Frozen franchise has held on us thaw with a full-length sequel?
