For the first half of November McDonald's will be including a book instead of a toy in their happy meals. McDonald's has partnered with Reading is Fundamental (RIF) to provide a selection of four books that will be included in happy meals purchased November 1-14.

I had the opportunity to participate in a wonderful Twitter Event sponsored by @BeBlogalicious, @McDonalds, and @RIFWeb. During the event participants discussed the joys of reading and the positive impact that reading and literacy have on children. The Happy Meal Books program created by McDonald's in partnership with RIF was well received. We were all excited to hear more about McDonald's and Reading is Fundamental's partnership for the month of November in addition to RIF's yearly efforts to promote reading and get books into the hands of U.S. children.
